WE ARE OPERATIONAL IN ALL THREE STATES.
Yes, it has happened. We have plants on site and we are completely operational in New Jersey. As I have said before, this is when the real work starts. People think the application and licensure is the hardest part, until they get to the next stage. People think fundraising and building is the hardest part, until they get to the third stage. People underestimate what it takes to manage a team and operations, which IS the hardest part. AND, they often completely miss or ignore the necessity of learning and iteration, something we often refer to as dialing-in.
And yet, we are here. AND, New Jersey is up and running with the support of the Michigan and Colorado teams, and New Jersey is now supporting them in return.
The model is working.
Pam and I visited a local New Jersey dispensary and they are VERY excited to carry our product. We shared our packaging design and they were incredibly supportive and complimentary.
We are off to a good start!
Colorado is doing a LOT more than nurturing healthy plants and providing incredible pictures. They are now selling their 2025 harvested material as well! The team has worked so hard and has faced some of the worst scenarios and conditions, but are courageously emerging on the other side with confidence and enthusiasm.
The harvest in Michigan has been going exceptionally well! Some of the early tests are coming back with incredible profiles. WE ARE EXCITED!
There is an important legislative development in Michigan. Michigan House Bill 4951, which has passed the Senate and is expected to be signed into law, introduces a 24% wholesale tax on the market. While we await further guidance on how the bill may be challenged, we are proactively adjusting our financial strategy to protect margins and ensure stability. Grasshopper Farms has consistently proven its ability to adapt to market shifts, and we are confident in our long-term strength and ability to continue delivering value for our partners.
We chose to enter this industry. We chose an industry that hasn't even started. (I believe the true start is when there is a harmonized federal and state framework.) We chose an industry that is emerging out of illegality and stigma. Our job is to charge through the mud to success. We will never play the victim card. We honor this challenge as an amazing opportunity - which it is.
With three states operational, we are excited and ready to take on anything...HEAD ON.
